Now we’ll have even more to talk about at PWS starting tomorrow!
The Texas RRC just added new requirements for certain new disposal wells, including all new deep disposal wells in the Permian Basin, and all new Shallow wells operating in a Seismic Response Area.
For the first time, these new wells will be required to be equipped and operated with a Bottomhole Pressure Monitoring gauge. In addition, the permit language will require the operators of the well to report daily injection monthly, including:
Maximum surface injection pressure • Average surface injection pressure • Maximum bottomhole injection pressure • Average bottomhole injection pressure • Injection volume • Maximum injection rate • Average fluid density
Permian Bottomhole Pressure Studies Available Now thru EnergyMakers
Interestingly, these are the same parameters EnergyMaker’s have been tracking in our quarterly Permian bottomhole pressure surveys for seven years now! These studies are available for purchase and provide an early preview into bottomhole pressure regimes throughout the Permian, for those who want to know what subsurface pressures to expect! Contact us for further information at info@energyMakersag.com
The big question remains…at some point, will any of these new requirements be required for existing wells? Is this a sign of things to come?
